Truthworker is honored to be featured at ROOTS Weekend-Richmond – April 20-23, 2017. Through the theme of Creating a World Without Prisons, and in partnership with ArtChangeUS, ART 180, and RIHD, we take a close, critical look at the U.S. prison industrial complex – the largest system of incarceration in the world. ROOTS Weekend-Richmond aims to lift up artist-activists who are working towards a world where prisons are a thing of the past.

Internationally-acclaimed duo, Climbing PoeTree is bringing together 33 phenomenal musicians, vocalists, and dancers to celebrate the release of their groundbreaking new album INTRINSIC. This collection of 17 rebel-rousing anthems, bilingual ballads, and unconventional love songs bridges electronic music and live instrumentation, combining hip-hop, spoken word, rock, blues, folk, soul, and Afro-Latin beats. INTRINSIC is heart medicine for these times, reminding us all that we belong to each other. Truthworker will be representing both performing on stage as well as holding it down behind the scenes with company members running lights and building the set!
