Joe’s Pub Presents 2nd Annual Toshi and Pete Seeger Sing Along, which will support Truthworker Theatre Company on July 19th, 9 pm at Joe’s Pub. Toshi Reagon recognizes the work Truthworker is doing, “this company is using theatre to tell true stories and sustain a community of young artists,” writes Reagon. We are honored to be recognized at this event, which is focusing on protests songs. Toshi Reagon’s community comes from a long line of freedom singers that have used their gifts to help envision justice. Join us!
Truthworker Soul Fire Farm Weekend Retreat July 17th-18th
Truthworker will have the opportunity to share with Youth FX & Kite’s Nest at Soul Fire Farm. The groups will exchange social justice workshops and perform for one another. On Saturday, Leah Penniman will lead a food justice workshop, and the youth will be able to get their hands on the land, and learn to prepare food from the farm.
